Mining Processing
The ECO₂ project is simple: we'll give a second life to magnesium-rich mine tailings by transforming them into the high-value product of high-quality magnesium oxide (MgO), all while reclaiming the environment and using a 100% eco-friendly process with a low carbon footprint.
The safe processing of mine tailings, based on very high-temperature thermal pretreatment, decontaminates and secures the material.
The ECO₂ solution is both viable and practical, as it will decontaminate up to 160,000 tonnes per year of mine tailings.
ECO₂ Magnesia's innovative, environmentally-friendly process will reduce nearly 130,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year.
